We very much like teaching physics because it is so applicable to everyday life, and because there is such a huge variety of labs, activities and demonstrations possible. The fact that we are all physics majors doesn't hurt, either.

If you are trying to find a teacher who retired, please check the Emeritus Faculty page.

I will make some pages that describe my Peace Corps experience at some point...

I grew up in Massachusetts, graduating from North Andover High School in 1983. From there, I went to college at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1987 with a B.S. in physics. Not knowing what to do after that, I joined the U.S. Peace Corps. I was assigned to a large rural high school in San Miguel, Bulacan in the Philippines, and enjoyed the experience very much. I got back to the States in July of 1990, and a year later was enrolled at the University of Massachusetts in a unique, and now defunct, program called MESTEP. By August of 1992, I had a Masters in Education and my certification in high school physics. One month later, I started my teaching career here at AB.

I am now a big fan of Linux, and use LinuxPPC at home on my Macs.
