Here are some of the people who have taught physics here at ABRHS, but have since retired or left.

Who We Were
charles gittins

After graduating from Bedford High School, Mr. Gittins attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, graduating in 1964 as a Pre-Med Major. After completing the required course work for teacher certification in the summer of 1964, he taught Chemistry and coached at South Hadley High School just over the mountain from Amherst. In 1966, he was hired to teach General Science and Chemistry at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. Via grants from the National Science Foundation, he studied summers at, and received his Masters Degree from, Wesleyan University in l971. In his years at ABRHS, he has taught extensively in the Physical Sciences. He taught only Physics since l994, and retired in 2001.

kristen (furgeson) kelly

Kristen graduated from Clarkson University in 1988 with a B.S. in Engineering. Following graduation, she moved from New York state to the Boston area to start work as an engineer for the General Electric Co. After working at GE for 8 years, she decided to make a career change into teaching. While working on a Masters in Teaching from Simmons College and her certification to teach Physics, she spent a year as an Intern with the Physics teachers here at ABRHS. As a result, she was hired at ABRHS to teach Physics full time in 1997.She left in 2001, when she moved to Maine.

She recently gave birth to her daughter.

eric kristoff

Eric graduated from WPI with a degree in Chemistry in 1994. He was hired as a chemistry teacher here at ABRHS in 1996, but he taught a couple sections of physics for a couple years. He left ABRHS in 1999 to pursue web development work in the private sector. He still maintains his own web site, at http://www.phlogiston.com.
